Buttermilk Waffles

This is the perfect way to start your day, and only take a few minutes to make.

I love to serve these for brunch, and they give the feeling of having a delicious breakfast at a fancy restaurant.

My family begs me to make waffles almost daily. Maybe I should not make them so delicious, lol

This is the waffle maker that I use.

This Buttermilk Waffles recipe will be your family’s favorite way to enjoy waffles

These fluffy buttermilk Belgian Waffles are easy to make and will fill the home with the aroma of sweet vanilla.

Ingredient Notes

  • All-Purpose Flour:  Feel free to substitute with a gluten-free flour blend for a delicious gluten-free option.
  • Sugar: Instead of granulated sugar, you can try brown sugar or a delicious honey, or keto sugar as an option.
  • Salt: This adds a perfect balance so that the waffles are not overly sweet.
  • Buttermilk: If you can’t find or have access to buttermilk, it’s easy to make your own by adding a tablespoon of lemon juice to regular milk and letting it sit for a few minutes until it sets.

Begin by melting the butter: You should melt the butter and let the melted butter sit for a few minutes to cool slightly before mixing it in the batter. So, melt the butter first, then set it aside while you put together the remaining ingredients for the waffles.

Don’t overmix the batter: Overmixing can make the waffles very chewy. Just whisk until the batter is smooth.
Pre- heat your waffle maker: Making sure that your waffle maker is nice and hot will ensure crispy edges and a fluffy center.

2 cups of buttermilk

2 cups of all purpose flour

1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

In another large bowl, combine eggs, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
Mix to combine.

Add bowl of wet ingredients to bowl of dry ingredients and whisk together until batter is smooth.

Spray the waffle iron with cooking spray and add about 1 cup of the waffle batter to the iron and cook until done.
