FANTASTIC BEEF’S AND WHERE TO FIND THEM!

I haven’t been around for a while. Things have been very hectic for the past year or so. I plan on telling you guys all about it one day, but for right now, all I want to talk about is my love for beef!

It’s my favorite protein. My favorite go to when ordering at a restaurant.

Today, we will be watching an early showing of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them! We love all things Harry Potter, as you can tell from some of my more popular posts like my recipe for Butterbeer Hot Chocolate, and my tutorial for a Harry Potter Spell Book Cake.

So in honor of the awesome movie from the franchise that is a favorite in our home, here is my list of favorite restaurant items featuring beef!

These are some local California hot spots for some delicious food, and many places that’s you may not have heard about before, but if you are in California, or plan on traveling to this beautiful state anytime soon, here is a few dining spots you should check out for sure. Eat like the locals eat, that’s what I like to say!

1: Jockos

Jockos in Nipomo California, is a gem like no other! It’s about a 4 hour drive from Los Angeles, and it has a very laid back, barbecue feel. It is a must eat if
you are traveling the 101. It’s a wonderful family friendly steak house, that has been around for a long time, and the rib eye steak is the best steak I have ever had!

They Oak-Grill their meats on this huge, beautiful grill that they have out back, and the rib-eye (which is called the Spencer) is so tender, that you could eat it with a spoon!

It is super juicy, seasoned just right. You’ve never had steak, until you’ve had Jockos!
They open for dinner at 4:30 PM, so be sure to plan accordingly.

2: Ruth’s Chris

This place is amazing for steak! They bring it to your table sizzling in butter! What more can I say, to convince you?

This steak is so tender, that it melts in your mouth. And be sure to check out their happy hour steak sandwich!

This is our usual dining spot on
New Years Eve, and it is the only way to start the new year right!

3: Blue Bayou

This restaurant is located in Disneyland, connected to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride! It gives you that Louisiana/New Orleans feel, and the food is amazing!
But then again, all Disneyland food is awesome.

This herb marinated flat iron steak is grilled to perfection, and the flavor, is buttery and drizzled with an herb sauce, that makes everything right with the world. A little pricey for a theme park, but then again, nothing compares to this experience!

4: The Original Pantry Cafe

This place is a Los Angeles landmark circa 1924! The lines to get in are always long, and it is totally worth the wait!

The Original Pantry
Located in the heart of downtown LA, this is the place for a bite after catching a Los Angeles Lakers Game! When you come in, they bring you Cole slaw that, in my opinion, is the best anywhere! And don’t forget to order the grilled sourdough bread to go along with it, and a classic cup of Joe.

Then order the country fried steak, or the roast beef dinner! Either way, you are made!

877 S Figueroa St, Los Angeles, CA 90017

5: Cielito Lindo

World famous taquitos since 1934. Located in downtown LA on olvera street, the food stands here are absolutely amazing with authentic tacos and
taquitos.

The secret to their amazing flavor, is that they are fried in lard. Yes, lard. One bite, and you will know why the lines are long here!

We like to soak our taquitos in their delicious green avocado sauce. It’s
the only way to enjoy them, in my opinion!

E-23 Olvera St, Los Angeles, CA 90012

6: Flemings

My other local Steakhouse, is one of my favorites for a delicious Steakhouse burger! So juicy and seasoned just right, it’s a great place for happy hour smiles! The steaks are amazing just as well. This is a perfect spot for date night!

7: Rao’s Hollywood

The original Rao’s, is located in New York, and this place got super famous for their delicious Italian food, and famous faces that often frequented the place. The wait list just to get a table could span months.

Rao's Hollywood
They have a few newer locations that have popped up in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and the veal chop
here, is to die for! It’s like no other! It’s breaded, and pan fried to Italian perfection! If you like Italian, this is the place for you!

1006 Seward St, Los Angeles, CA 90038

8: Damons Steakhouse

This little gem is located in the city of Glendale. Not far from Burbank and the wizarding world of Harry Potter, this place actually looks like it belongs in the
Enchanted Tiki Room in Disneyland! It even has a Dole Whip cocktail, that is super good!

And while their grilled chicken is what we usually go for, the country fried steak that can only be had on Wednesday’s lunch time.

But beware! They run out quickly, so get there early for this! It has a buttery flavor, and a crunchy texture, and tender steak goodness! And you just might want to swim in their delicious country gravy! Yeah, it’s that good!

317 N Brand Blvd, Glendale, CA 91203

9: Philippe The Original

Serving up some delicious French Dip sandwiches since 1908! This local landmark is known for its yummy food, and sawdust covered floors. Why they still do this, is beyond me, but the place transports you back in time! The French Dip Beef sandwiches are world famous yummy, and the pickled eggs, have to be tried! If you are traveling to Los Angeles, you will need to stop by this joint for a bite!

1001 North Alameda, Los Angeles, CA 90012

10: Johnny’s Pastrami

Another long time joint, is this magical place, that
has jukeboxes at each table, and they give you yummy pickles when you sit down. In my opinion, that’s the way to get anyone’s attention!

Then, to top it all off, you get to eat a hot dipped Pastrami sandwich, that is slathered in yummy drippy goodness, and then you just want to nap, because you feel like a baby who just had the best meal ever!

You actually leave this place tired, because you ate so much!
You just keep eating because it’s that good! Then you order more for home! It’s bad people! It’s baaaddd how good it is!

4017 Sepulveda Blvd, Culver City, CA 90230

11: Pink’s Famous Hot Dogs

Ok, now, if you don’t know Pink’s, then you just don’t eat, like ever! Pinks is not just a hot dog stand. It’s a Los Angeles icon all itself! Movie stars, and limousines, come here to grab a bite, of this delicious hot dog!

It’s because it’s not just your average dog. First, this hot dog, is snappy! It snaps! And you can get it so many ways, like the giada de laurentis way, with mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, and melted cheese! Or you can get their classic delicious chili dog, and be done with it, or you can go for the gusto
and order one of their burrito dogs, that has two hot dog links, chili, bacon, eggs, Pastrami, you name it, wrapped up in a tortilla that reminds you of a gift of delicious goodness! Here pink’s! Take my money, goodness! Don’t come here to be skinny. That’s
all I’m saying!

709 N La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90038

12: Dan Tana’s

Now, if you are into watching celebrities, and hob nobbing with the famous, then here is the place to be. At this tiny, tiny joint, nestled in the heart of Los Angeles, near Beverly Hills, you might find not only a
frequent flyer like George Clooney, but also one of the most delicious veal parmigiana dinners ever had
IN YOUR LIFE!

It’s no wonder that to eat here, you may have a long table wait! But this place is so small, that spotting the rich and famous will not be hard.
You can find them either at the bar having a cocktail, or ducked out in one of their red leather booths,
chowing down on some authentic Italian eats! Don’t miss this one!

9071 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069

13: Maggiano’s Little Italy

I know that you have probably been here before, but not like this! I have only seen this tomahawk steak for Father’s Day, and this makes Maggiano’s stand out!

Now if you are looking for a Los Angeles experience with this one, then check out their location at The Grove LA! You can walk around, and
ride a trolley, catch a movie, and do some shopping!
This is one of my favorite spots around holiday time.

14: Canter’s Deli

This is a classic! Their sandwiches and soups are the
main event!

Pictured is a corned beef/Pastrami combo called the Canter’s Fairfax! Because Canter’s is on Fairfax of course! It’s piled high and good to go.
The corned beef brisket is so tender and juicy, and melts in your mouth with a hint of garlic, and peppercorn, that will keep you in your seat! Canter’s landmark Deli offers baked goods, sandwiches and more, around the clock! Perfect for eating after all those LA parties!

419 N Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036

15: Black Bear Diner

I am seeing Black Bear Diner’s popping up everywhere, and for good reason! A location just
arrived near us, and we jumped for joy when we seen the sign that said “Coming Soon” It was like Santa
Clause was coming to town!

Their portions are to enjoyed now, and later! If you are looking for hearty
meals, with hearty portions, and great service, then this is the family restaurant you need! The home style country fried steak is huge, they can come shaped as a bear claw, and super satisfying! The burgers
and banana cream pies are great too!

So there is my list of some FANTASTIC BEEF’S AND WHERE TO FIND THEM!
For us, eating out around holiday time, is the norm, because of all the shopping I do! And this year, will be a very special and happy Christmas for us!
