Basque Burnt Cheesecake

My daughter has been in the baking mood for a minute, and so she decided on a Basque Burnt Cheesecake. She finds all of her recipes on TikTok, which is fun.

Now this Basque Burnt Cheesecake recipe comes together so easily, and burning it was interesting. It’s very easy actually, because you don’t have to worry about making a crust. Just mix together and bake. It looks kinda fancy in my opinion.

We made this recipe the way she found it on Tik Tok, except that I suggested a 10 inch pan instead of an 8 inch pan, as I suspected the amount of cream cheese called for a much bigger pan. The initial baking time that she saw on the Tik Tok recipe, called for baking the Burnt Basque Cheesecake to be baked for 45 minutes, but after that time, we saw that our Burnt Basque Cheesecake was not ready at 45 minutes.

But be sure to check your Cheesecake at 45 minutes for doneness.
The only thing I will say, is that we had a bit of batter left over.

This recipe is perfect for thanksgiving, or a family dinner, or dinner party. The flavors were rich, delicious and creamy. I loved having leftovers the next day with my morning cup of coffee.

I am proud that my kids are starting to appreciate baking, and they are becoming more experimental in the kitchen, as before when they were teens, they didn’t want to be in the kitchen much. Now that they are young adults, cooking and baking has become a passion of theirs.

And now I can’t get them out of the kitchen. Which is wonderful because we get to bake delicious adventures together! It’s a heartwarming feeling this holiday season, and I am truly thankful!

Basque Burnt Cheesecake

6 bars of cream cheese

1 cup granulated sugar

3 eggs

1/3 cup of cake flour

 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Line a 10 inch springform cake pan with parchment paper, making sure the paper comes up the sides of the cake pan.

In the bowl of an electric mixer, combine cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until fluffy.

Then add 3 eggs, one at a time until combined.

Slowly add in 1/3 cup of cake flour, and 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, and combine until smooth and creamy.

Bake for 50-55 minutes in a 10 inch pan.

Cake should be a bit giggly in the middle, and golden brown.

Remove from oven, and let cool a bit, then refrigerate overnight.

When ready to serve, open springform pan, and carefully peel away parchment paper.
