A little while ago, I made some NY Style Push Cart Hot Dog Onion Sauce, and that was truly delicious. So today I would love to show you how to make the Bacon Wrapped Hot Dog, that the sauce is piled on. I love Hot Dogs, especially in summer, and when it is Baseball season, and I love how it is just the best family meal, and everyone loves them. Here in Los Angeles, Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs, have become the norm. Every cart Downtown LA is serving them, and they can be very addicting.

We don’t always have them wrapped in bacon, as we have been trying to eat more healthy these days, but every once in a while, you just gotta have one! The day just wouldn’t be complete without a Bacon Wrapped Hot Dog. We made these on our outdoor teppanyaki style grill, that you have heard me talk about a lot lately, so I am not going to re hash that again. Don’t worry. What I will do, is tell you that you can absolutely make them in any pan that you wish, and they will come out great.

You just need some bacon. I’d say about 8 strips, and Hot dogs. I am not getting paid to say that I love, and use Boars Head Beef Frankfurters, because they have that snap, in the hot dog, that reminds me of an authentic New York deli hot dog. That snap, and that flavor, beats all other hot dogs. They come in the package still linked together! You give this beef frankfurter to a hot dog fan, and watch them go crazy! One will just not be enough for them. I only am able to find them near the deli counter. Not in the cold meats section, but where the deli cheese, salads, and specialty packaged deli meats are. Yes, these hot dogs are more than what I would spend on hot dogs, but these are so good, and so worth every penny, you’ll see!

All you need to do, is wrap a piece of bacon around the hot dog, so that it is twisted around the dog. When you are ready to cook them, you just need to place them seam side down in your pan, so that the edges can seal shut, and the bacon will become secured on the dog, so that when you turn it over, to cook the other side, the bacon will be less likely to unravel, or come of the hot dog.

I cook mine for a good while, like 3-4 minutes per side, to ensure that the bacon gets browned enough. Just make sure that your stove is set to medium heat, to prevent over scorching, and burnt bacon. When it is done, you will have the most delicious hot dog ever created! You can add any toppings you like, and your hot dog will not just be a meal, it will be an experience!
