Remove paint from skin

I have been doing a lot of home projects lately. My mailbox was giving me problems because it would not screw into our post out front, and it would always get water into it when it rained. Even while on our porch. So this time, I was really lucky to find a mailbox online for such a good price. And while it was originally painted black, I wanted to have a pop of red on my front porch. so I decided to get some rustoleum in Apple Red, and go to town.

But this is what happened to my hands because I forgot to wear gloves.

After I finished spray painting my new shiny mailbox, I tried to get the paint off my hands using soap. No good. I tried to scratch the paint off my nails. No good. I then tried to remove the paint using rubbing alcohol. It made it sticky and worse. My dear, wonderful husband said that he would help me by using WD40. No thanks, No way!

That made me research into what could help. Ive seen scrubbing and baking soda, and baby oil, among others. And then I saw that some people used Olive oil! Perfect! But I just could not see myself wasting my good olive oil, that I pay over $15.00 dollars a bottle, to use as paint remover. So I opted for good old Vegetable Oil.

Worked just as good. Just slather some on your hands and massage gently until it washes away. Then use hand soap to remove oil. All clean!

Any ol’ Vegetable oil will work. I am sure that Olive Oil would have made my hands softer, but my heart just could not do it. My EVOO is not meant to be wasted.

And look how pretty my new mailbox looks:)
