I’m getting hungrier these days:(   I know, right! It’s like I am always thinking of food! I’m trying really hard to lose weight for a wedding that we are going to in September. This is going to be a very important event. The whole family and extended family as well, will be there. The groom is a young man who as a child, battled and won leukemia.

We have known him his whole life, and his mother is one of my closest friends. So as you can see, it is very important that I start getting ready for this party like now! I only wore my gown once about 5 years back. It’s still clean and beautiful. It just won’t fit. And if I am not able to fit in this gown, I’m going to have to buy a new gown, and that’s a job right there I tell ya!

Trying on gowns that look good on the hanger, and not so good on me, is a fun but exhausting adventure. And one that I am not looking forward to. So trying to lose about 15 pounds is what I need to accomplish. I’m going to need a lot of affirmations, and positive thinking to keep me motivated. But I’m a mom on a mission, and a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.

Simple Pan Gravy
And this delicious and savory mushroom gravy only makes my attempt at dieing so very hard. As my husband says , I am a sneaky stacker;)

Staying away from this gravy is not going to be easy, but it is so easy to make. Gravy is something that can be poured, drizzled, slathered on most anything. Did I mention slathered? Yes-yes I did! I can put gravy on any kind of potato. Fried, hash browns, french fries, baked, mashed, cracked, you name it.

Gravy is like bacon. It makes everything better. And I especially love it when it turns out that it is so easy to make! You can shred roast beef in this gravy and make open faced beef sandwiches. You can probably add more soy sauce, and turn it into an Asian sauce very easily. Then just pour it on rice and steamed broccoli for a quick Asian dish. How awesome is that?

You can maybe add some sour cream and turn it into a stroganoff sauce. The possibilities are endless. But the base gravy needs to start somewhere, and this is that easy mushroom pan gravy.
