It’s no secret in my family, that I love flea markets, vintage markets, farmers markets, any kind of markets really. I love to look at vintage items and handmade items, it is a new passion of mine. In the past, it was never like that for me. Everything had to be shiny and new. I used to love stainless steel appliances and new furnishings. Now for some strange reason that I cannot explain, I love antiques! I love 1940s appliances like O’keefe and Merritt and wedgewood, I love the look of an antique French country kitchen. So when I go to antique markets, I am always on the hunt for something unique, and vintage or vintage looking.
The Topanga Vintage Market is a quaint little market that is not overwhelmingly large as other vintage markets, like the one that is held at the rose bowl. I was fortunate to visit the rose bowl flea market, and I must say, it is HUGE!  It goes all the way around the stadium. One humongous circle full of FASCINATING finds! It is just to big to behold.
The Topanga Vintage Market is much, much smaller and you can finish it in under 90 minutes looking at everything.
The Topanga Vintage Market is held every forth Sunday of the month. It is held in the parking lot of the Westfeild Promenade Shopping Center located at:
8 am-3pm Admission is $2 and kids 12 and under are free, pets are not allowed.
At entry, it does state that if you bring a receipt from the shopping mall, they will reimburse your $2 entry fee.
Before you enter the market, they give you these funky little sticker labels for each person for re-entry.
These stickers have funny little sayings like ‘Love my hoard’
It adds just a little touch of whimsy to the atmosphere.
Most of the vendors there are market regulars and can also be found at other markets such as The Rose Bowl Flea Market.
One one occasion at Topanga market, we saw a taxidermy vendor with things like  Insectframes that hold everything from butterflies and Beatles to Huge Tarantulas and even mice on tiny bicycles. The also has a small two headed chick (bird) under a glass dome. They had things like real four leaf clovers encased in a glass locket, or in acrylic. My son loved a computer mouse that had a real Beatle in acrylic. My daughter was fascinated by everything and thought the acrylic bracelets with real ladybugs in them, we’re scary but cool!
My husband on the other hand wanted no part of nothing! He stood ten feet away from the  taxidermy mice.
I loved looking and all of the Parisian looking decor, and I loved browsing through the shabby-chic kitchen items.
Some of the furniture vendors have recycled items made new, like taking two dining chairs and making on large bench.
I also found the most charming antique ironing board, I am not even sure where I would put it; maybe a sunroom if I had one!?!
They have a snack station for refreshments and portable bathrooms and a portable handwashing station as well. Parking is nearby but you might have a challenging time getting one fast as you may like due to all the other shoppers looking for a parking as well. I got very lucky this past trip and found my parking in the front row. YAY ME!
Signs galore!
Here, they made a hanging planter, using an old iron fence!
All in all it was a wonderful outing and even though I did not find the kitchen chalkboard or cotton vegetable sack aprons that I once saw there, I was able to buy this charming little sign for my DIY kitchen adventures. It was only ten dollars and painted with a stencil by the vendor.
So if you are just in a browsing mood, or are looking for that special vintage kitchen canister set,  you may find everything you want at the Topanga Vintage Market in Woodland Hills.
This is not a paid endorsement. I just love flea markets! Don’t you?
